- ICC FraudNet firms represented at UNCITRAL insolvency working group
This week MKS solicitor-advocate Shaun Reardon-John appeared at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in Vienna, with our long-time friend and colleague, Dr Henrique Forssell of Duarte Forssell Advogados.
Henrique Forssell is the ICC FraudNet member in São Paulo, Brazil.
Together, they were participating as members of an Expert Working Group at UNCITRAL’s Working Group V (Insolvency) in Vienna, Austria, charged with helping to develop a model law on cross-border asset recovery.
In an increasingly economically interdependent world, the importance of developing and maintaining a robust cross-border legal framework for the facilitation of international trade and investment is widely acknowledged.
The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) plays a key role in developing that framework in pursuit of its mandate to further the progressive harmonisation and modernisation of the law of international trade.
UNCITRAL does this by preparing and promoting the use and adoption of legislative and non-legislative instruments in a number of key areas of commercial law.
